300,000 Served

Again, from CBN.com -- Pat Robertson interviews General Tommy Franks (retired):
ROBERTSON: There have been a number of disappointments in Iraq. Did you make the right decision to go in?

FRANKS: No doubt about it. I think the families and friends of the 300,000 or so Iraqis who were murdered by Saddam Hussein over the last several decades believed that we did the right thing by removing him from power.
What about the 25,000 estimated civilian deaths from Coalition Forces? Or the more than 100,000 (perhaps 200,000; surely higher now) excess deaths predicted by a Lancet study? Then, let's add deaths from 12 years of regular "no-fly" zone bombings (whoknows how many) and the first Gulf War (hard to tell, estimates range between 1000 and 3500 civilians, 1000 to 56,000 Iraqi soldiers). Plus, let's not forget about hundreds of thousands of casulaties from the sanctions.

We've got to be over 300,000 by now; perhaps more. If not, we will be soon.
